Stuff I’m really looking forward to:

Cinema trips… Last night James caved to my “but @studarby took @Dawnl627 to see it already” whining and booked tickets to see Eclipse this Friday night at our local Cineworld. I don’t care if it will be busy and crammed with screaming teenage girls, I’m excited! I’m also hoping to catch Inception, Toy Story 3, the new Shrek and although it’s still months away I’m getting excited about the Harry Potter Deathly Hallows film this Autumn.

The Aussie party this weekend – I get to hang out with @hayles & @lilacdolphin666 … I’m thinking room picnic on Saturday, McDonalds brekkie on Sunday, and random London exploration.

My birthday! I am going to be 25 on the 25th of this month, and I am spending it in Cornwall with my parents for the first time in years.

Birthday presents! James is spoiling me with LEGO HARRY POTTER OMG and NEW MOON on blu ray, which is really above and beyond since he already got me the iPad and let me get away with several iTunes payments cropping up on our joint account statements.

Going to see ‘Jake and Elwood‘ at the Hall for Cornwall on Saturday 24th – my birthday treat from my Mum & Dad who know me well! I have always loved the Blues Brothers films, can’t wait to see this.

The whole Cornwall trip – Relaxing on the beach, swimming in the freezing sea, swimming in the marginally warmer sea water pool at Bude, going to a brill fabric shop that my Mum told me about, spending time with my family, laughing at James driving up and down the disused runways at Davidstow Moor1, playing with the cats, and of course eating amazing Cornish food – specifically the pasties from Tasty Pasty in Bude!

Being an Auntie.. only a few months left until I have a legitimate excuse to wander around mothercare squealing over the baby clothes and toys. Yay!

Nonsensical Birthday Celebratory Weekend Planning:

To celebrate the momentous occasion that is my 25th birthday, I would like to have friends come to our house for the weekend, whereupon we shall provide entertainment in the form of film watching, singstar, edible yumminess & alcohol. Oh, and ridiculous wii games.

Since we are in Cornwall for the actual day, the date is still to be decided on, but the vague plan is for it to be sometime in August.

If you are interested in attending, please can you fill in the dates you are available on this Doodle doodad, so that I can try to arrange it on a weekend that suits as many people as possible?

I told him about the old airfield and how I did my first driving lesson there, and now he has some Top Gear type fantasy of racing around the place.

On Friday afternoon I got a very welcome email from the lovely Emma from 1000heads, inviting me to the Miracle Moist Aussie party on the following day. Of course (knowing how amazing the Aussie events are) I jumped at the chance to fill a slot that had been freed up due to a few guest cancellations.

I managed to sort my self out & get ready in record time after a relaxing afternoon at the park, and so at 7pm on Saturday evening I arrived at the Island Bar on Suffolk St Queensway in the City Centre. I was all on my lonesome because none of my girl friends were available at short notice, so I was feeling rather shy and nervous – I didn’t know anyone who was going apart from Emma! A few of us arrived at about the same time and we headed upstairs to the Tiki Bar, where we were greeted by Emma and given some yummy cocktails. I felt like a little bit of an imposter because I’m really in the Luscious Long tribe – though I do use Miracle Moist occasionally so I wasn’t entirely out-of-place!

The evening was great fun; there was lots of chatting with the other angels, great food and drinks and a pair of fabulous hair stylists who gave us a lesson in looking after dry hair, and did our hair in fabulous do’s throughout the evening (they tried their best to give me some curls but they mostly fell out, my hair is just so heavy and thick!). I got some great tips about looking after my sensitive scalp, and some good advice about how to have my hair styled next time I head to the hairdresser.

The highlight (and main event) of the evening was Scott’s Cocktail Masterclass, which was absolutely hilarious. The group was split into two teams, team 11 and team 2. Each team was given a quick tour of the bar and shown where everything was (although I missed this bit due to my hair being done) and then Scott, the oh so marvellous barman, taught us how to make a Tom Collins cocktail.

One person from each team had to go up against another, with Scott timing the proceedings and judging the cocktails once completed. We even had to serve it up with a napkin and a straw, complete with the correct garnish. It was actually quite tense when you were behind the bar – the time limits were really low and there was gin and all sorts of things flying all over the place! All efforts had to be consumed by their creators, and shots were issued to any people breaking the rules or talking during the demonstrations - Fi in particular had to have quite a few (increasingly disgusting) dirty shots!

The competition continued with us learning how to make a Bramble, Cosmopolitan2 and then a B-52. Great fun, and I even remember most of the instructions! I think Scott decided to make me his personal mission after I layered the perfect B-52 shot though, and proceeded to make me incredibly strong custom cocktails… a red tequila drink, then a blue one, then an orange. I think he thought I was far too sober in comparison to everyone else. That combination of drinks pretty much finished me off, and I was as sloshed as everyone else by the time we stumbled outside into the cold night air, that had absolutely no sobering effect on me at all.

Most importantly… Team One won the cocktail competition. Though nobody knew the score for sure, as the ‘drink everything you make’ rule messed with everyone’s ability to count! I did manage to get some blog addresses written down into my Moleskine so I should be able to keep in contact with the new friends I made, which is good.

Yesterday morning I was quite horrifically hungover (I suspect the tequila) and so my wonderful husband looked after me, and fed me coffee and a bacon & egg sandwich. I did manage to surface after lunch and headed downstairs to relax on the sofa for the afternoon, thankfully. On the plus side, because of the mousse the hair stylists put in my hair during the party, every time I rolled over in bed I got a gorgeous whiff of Aussie!

Thanks so much for the invite Aussie… I’m really looking forward to the Luscious Long party next month!

This weekend, James & I headed over to Neil (@neilcrosby) & Becca’s (@bookwormbecca) for an 80s film weekend. We were lavishly fed & watered, and a good time was had by all!

We headed down on Saturday morning and time warped back to the 80s by watching Flash Gordon, closely followed by The Goonies and finished off with Short Circuit.

I had never seen Flash Gordon all the way through before, only snatches here & there, so it was great to watch the whole thing – needless to say I loved it! Completely mad story, nutty characters and the special effects to match.

The Goonies is one of my all time favourite films so watching that was no hardship, even if I did keep having mental flashes of the main character (Sean Astin) as him in his role as Samwise Gangee – he kept giving inspirational speeches not unlike the ones Sam gives Frodo. “We can make it to One Eyed Willy… I mean Death Mountain!”.

Short Circuit is one I remembered loving as a child, when my parents had it on VHS, and it didn’t disappoint on rewatching it 15 or so years later! Though I do have to say; my god I never realised just how much sexual innuendos and general perviness there was in this film! If you haven’t seen it since you were a kid, you have to rewatch it… You’ll see it in a whole new light!

Following the brilliance of those three films was the Eurovision Song Contest. Some good acts, some not so good acts and some absolutely hilarious acts! There were many sarcastic comments, lots of random tweeting and lots of laughing. Following our 5th position entry last year, the UK reverted back to usual form by singing a rather cruddy song and coming in last. We almost didn’t make it, but some last minute voting for Belgrave (surprise butterfly wings!!) saved us from the embarrassment of coming in second to last, and so we failed triumphantly and came in last of the pack. This was actually one of the funniest moments of the evening – all five of us cheered when Belgrave received the magic points that pushed us into last place.

The winner was the German entry Lena – rather unsurprising considering that song has been a no. 1 in half of Europe already! Poor thing, when she won she complained that she couldn’t hold her trophy because she wasn’t strong enough, and then rather pathetically blurted out “do I have to sing now?!?”. Bless. She looked rather bewildered to have won, instead of being happy.

After playing the awesome game that is SingStar, we headed off to bed. On Sunday morning, Neil & Becca were awesome and produced bacon butties for breakfast. Mmmm. This was fabulous preparation for the day, which consisted of Labyrinth, followed by Flight of the Navigator and then ending with Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure.

Labyrinth is another childhood film that I’ve taken into adulthood, and so I was quite happy to settle down and watch one of my faves first thing in the morning. There were plenty of Bowie crotch shots, lots of freakiness and a fair amount of WTF moments.

I hadn’t seen Flight of the Navigator since I was a kid but my fixed conviction that it was brilliant wasn’t shaken – I loved it just as much as I remembered. I love the little alien creature – I want one!

To finish off our 80s film fest we watched Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure. This was another one that I have never managed to watch all the way through (as far as I can remember anyway), but I really enjoyed it & giggled all the way through. Might have to pick this one up for our film collection some time!

After we were done with the films, we had a bit of gadget/game swapping so that Becca could play with my iPad and James & I took Red Dead Redemption out for a spin on the xbox. That’s definitely gone into our PS3 wish list, and somewhere near the top!

Thanks Becca, thanks Neil – we had a really great weekend!

(And the cake was GREAT).

This year really is ‘the year of weddings’ for myself & James. Last year, the only wedding I went to was my own… this year we were invited to SIX weddings, though we were only able to accept five invitations (two weddings were on the same day!).

And so it was on Saturday, we dutifully got up early, ironed our wedding outfits (ok, so I ironed them whilst giving James instructions such as ‘go find my black heels’), and jumped in the car to drive to Trimley St Martin for the fourth wedding of the year.

Sarah (James’s Cousin) & Davis had a beautiful church wedding, with blazing sunshine & a very pretty pink daisies theme. The bridesmaids wore hot pink strapless dresses, and had white daisy bouqeuts, whilst Sarah was gorgeous in a white wedding dress with pink daisies.

The ceremony was lovely – even if the vicar was a tad bit batty! James & I were pleased when we spotted ‘All things bright & beautiful’ as one of the hymns – one where we knew the words & tune! The readings were nice, Ecclesiastes 4 9:12 & Carol Ann Duffy’s Valentine. The only problem was that I studied ‘Valentine’ to death during my GCSEs and so couldn’t help cringing a little as the hours of deconstruction came flooding back! Carol Ann Duffy studied at my high school (in one of it’s previous incarnations), so the English teachers felt the need to pick that poem every year from the selection in the GCSE English Anthology and then torture us by giving it extra attention!

The reception was inspired – a quintessentially British tea party with an assortment of cakes, cream tea, pots of tea & glasses of pimms. There were even Dolly Mixture favours instead of the traditional almonds, and a cake holder full of sweets in the middle of each table. The crockery was an eclectic mix of beautiful old style china tea cups & saucers, with milk jugs & tea pots in all shapes and sizes. After everyone had stuff their faces full of scrumptious treats & the speeches were done, Sarah & Davis cut the cake & had their first dance.

With the British portion of the day over, Davis’s family jumped into action and started carrying mysterious trays of food around, setting up a tradition Ugandan buffet, which included all sorts of vegetables and various goat dishes.

Oh yes. I ate goat. It was surprisingly yummy, but I found the aftertaste was too strong for me, rather like roast duck.

I actually liked the buffet more than I expected to, I’m a little bit kit & miss with foreign foods; I love chinese/cantonese and italian, but hate mexican & indian. Needless to say I was slightly worried about having to go hungry, but that wasn’t a problem!

While everyone was relaxing (having stuffed their faces for a second time), Sarah snuck off and came back resplendent in a beautiful traditional Ugandan dress to do another first dance – a traditional hunting dance where she had to dance around the room hunting for her husband!

We left not long after the dancing, because my stupid headaches has struck again & we wanted to catch a lift with James’s dad (we were staying in the same b&b).

Sunday was spent having a quick look around Felixstowe, driving back to Birmingham, walking Homily & a pregnant Bru, and then collapsing in bed with the headaches escalating to migraine level. I drugged myself to sleep!

Roll on bank holiday weekend and wedding number five!

At the weekend, James & I headed to Bristol to meet up with Hayles and go to the FREE Banksy vs Bristol Museum exhibit.

We met up with Hayley & her friends outside the museum, and went to join the sizeable queue.. two and a half hours later after queuing in the pouring rain we were allowed into the museum. I’m really not complaining though (ok, I am a little bit). It was completely, utterly, unquestionably worth the wait. Plus, we entertained ourselves in the queue by being silly and taking photographs…

Yea, I do goofy well, huh?

Did you know that going round a museum and looking in every room is really tiring though!? I didn’t. I think maybe we were a little tired from the excessive queuing we did first though!

There were two rooms dedicated to Banksy – ‘Art of Banksy’ and ‘Unnatural History’. The first was a collection of his paintings & drawings, and the second a marvellous collection of animatronics.

Art of Banksy

A fabulous collection of satirical paintings, full of ironic statements such as a parliament full of chimps and Dorothy wailing “I don’t think we’re on canvas anymore…” – fab, fab, fab.

Unnatural History

Supurb animatronics. This video says it all…

The Art is in the Detail

My favourite part of the whole shebang was the little details. There was a ‘treasure hunt’ of Banksy pieces scattered about the whole museum, where they had taken away ‘real’ works of art & substituted his amusing/provoking/nonsensical pieces instead. These ranged from a bong in the family tea set cabinet, to a windows system error in a painting. It became almost a game to us to go through each section with an eye open to find his hidden treasures.

Even the map that we were given had been ‘banksyed’ – ‘Pottery & Ceramics’ had become ‘Boring Old Plates’, and ‘World Wildlife’ was rather accurately renamed ‘Wildlife in glass boxes’.

The exhibit is still there until the end of this month, so you should definitely go if you can. After all, it doesn’t cost anything but a few hours queuing! Trust me when I say you are well rewarded for that inconvenience.

After Banksy

We spent the rest of the day having lunch with Hayley & Co, settling into our B&B and then we headed to Hayley’s flat for a quiet evening of chinese food & my favourite recent Disney film, Enchanted. Love it!! Fab time was had by all. Nom nom nom.

Clifton Suspension Bridge

On Sunday, James & I got all touristy and visited the Clifton Suspension Bridge; wandering round the bridge, taking photos of every view of and from the bridge, and reading every board in the visitors centre. I admit, I geeked out over the engineering of the thing. James just wanted to know how they got it up!

As most of you know, it was my 24th birthday on Saturday 25th, and very fun it was too! We were very lucky with the weather, as it was a beautifully sunny day – especially in comparison to the current monsoon weather we’re experiencing!

I started my birthday celebration on Friday at work, with cakes for my co-workers! I had a half day, and also received a few cards & a mountain of chocolate from Sarah – she knows me well, and rightly said that fancy chocolates would be wasted on me! Hayley got me a box of milk tray.. mmm – the only boxed chocolates I like!

Friday evening, James & I treated Gayley to Frankie & Benny’s where I had a scumptious burger & a delicious banana sundae.. mmmm. After the meal we waddled to the cinema at Broadway Plaza and settled in for the long haul – Harry Potter time! I LOVED it. The HP films just get better & better each time, as the actors grow and develop. I can’t wait for the next two films (the last book is in two parts), and I’m going to re-read the books as soon as I finish the Anne of Green Gables series, which I’m working my way through for what must be the 5th time at the moment.

On my birthday, we woke up early in the morning, thanks to a nearby house alarm that started at 6am and went off continuously for two and a half hours. Argh. Anyway, we closed the bedroom windows to dull the sound, James brought me coffee in bed and then presented me with my cards & gifts! When I was a child we all used to pile onto Mum & Dads bed to open our birthday presents, and I still like to do my opening first thing in the morning, preferably in bed!

James got me the new Katie Fforde book ‘Love Letters’ which I’ve wanted since it came out – it’s taken a lot of self restraint for me to resist buying it myself, she is one of my favourite authors! He also gave me the Sims 3 (YAY!), dangly cat earrings, a really pretty earring holder (I love dangly earrings!), a pretty t-shirt & some chocolate eclairs.

From family… My sister already gave me an antique sewing machine, a Radley handbag mirror, and the minature CK one collection. Mum & dad gave me a sewing machine a few weeks ago & Ruth (my mother-in-law) has given me the Readers Digest Complete Guide to Sewing that was on my Amazon wishlist. James’s Grandparents sent me a lovely necklace which was so sweet of them! My grandparents sent me a cheque, and I received a handful of cards as well, yay! None of them were signed ‘Michael’ (my brother) though!

The red & silver drop earrings on the earring holder were from Gayle, who gave me a matching necklace as well (and crunchy M& Ms!!). Suzi gave me a boots gift card & I have had a WH Smith gift card today as well, so I have some shopping to do! Michelle & Mia presented me with a very cute Tatty Teddy bear which Mia said was Homily, and Tria bought me my first moleskine notebook, which I’m wanted for ages!

For the rest of my birthday, we headed to ASDA to load up on BBQ supplies, and then came home and tidied the house like fury, as it was still in a big decorating mess! By the time people arrived it was quite respectable, apart from the kitchen which still had a pile of washing up to do!

The BBQ was great fun, James kept us well supplied with a constant stream of food and there was good conversation to go with it! I had a great time hanging out with my friends, chatting & laughing. I managed to get the drinking spot on as well, a nice little buzz from the smirnoff ices & cider I was enjoying, but I wasn’t even very tipsy or drunk, just relaxed. Hurrah!

And a 3 year old climbed me. Lots of times. It was highly amusing. And then we watched Monsters Inc.

Since my birthday I have mostly been reading (I finished Love Letters in one day on Sunday and loved it!), watching Veronica Mars episodes, or playing on the Sims 3 on my iMac. More to come on that later, but for now check out my temporary iMac configuration, with me crossed legged on the sofa & the iMac on the desk chair.. our desk is still dismantled because of the decorating!

Thanks for all the birthday messages and cards I’ve received!!

Time for a bit of a catch up – I’ve been busy being ill (heatwaves are not nice to headache sufferers, especially ones who’s medication stocks are a bit low) & decorating & general busy-ness, so I haven’t blogged much recently. Some events that have been happening in the last week or so…

We went to IKEA and spent too much money on stuff for the house, redecorating has led to furniture re-arrangement plans, so we have bought extra shelving & stuff, blinds for the spare room, lots of storage boxes.. and a completely impractical sheepskin rug – my birthday present to myself! Homily seems to think this is hers, mind:

We also went to Bournville Festival – the maypole dancers were very cute but did get a tad confused when they were walking off!!!

On Monday we had the day of work & went to watch the X Factor auditions at the ICC in Birmingham City Centre. It was great fun, and we saw some brilliant people, some mediocre people, and some absolutely dire people! A couple were real side splitters! There were a bunch of hippies that just came on & sang some African tribal campfire song (out of time and out of tune), announced that Glastonbury was far too mainstream, and got very offended when Simon said no! I think quite a few from our day will be on the telly. One of them might even be in the ‘take them on holiday’ stage.

Following our Easter Trip to Dorset, James & I headed North to visit a multitude of family members! After we got back to Birmingham on Wednesday (15th) we unpacked, did a washload, slept, repacked, and headed off again on our travels on Thursday (16th) – as you can tell it was a very restful holiday, our Easter week off!

Homily disgraced us within 10 minutes of our arrival – as James and I sat down to rest & have a coffee, we suddenly noticed that our little dog had disappeared into the kitchen when we weren’t watching.. Now, Richard’s dog Robbie is of the mindset that food is just not that important in the grand scheme of things. As a result of this, in their household a bowl full of dog biscuits can be left on the floor to be nibbled on throughout the day. Of course, this concept is completely incomprehensible to our greedy little Terrier, and so she was delighted to be greeted by half a bowl of yummy dog food upon our arrival. The amount of food the dog ate was roughly equal to a week’s worth of her normal food – which left her a very fat doggie for a day or two!

We walked the dogs together in their local park, and discovered this wonderful thing: the Newcastle Shoe Tree! I thought it was fascinating. I love it when things that were originally considered ‘eyesores’ are suddenly viewed local treasures instead, like buildings that were once labelled ugly suddenly being toted as ‘architectural wonders’. The Shoe Tree started off as a nuisance to the local council; just kids vandalising an old tree in the park – and now it even has it’s own information board & a yearly ‘harvest’ to prevent overloading of shoes from damaging the tree.

After dinner & wine, we headed over to Chloe’s flat to stay the night – as Richard’s house was due to be full over the weekend his daughter kindly offered us a bed in her flat instead. The following two days were spent visiting Granny & Grandfather3 in Alnmouth – where we had a great time walking the dogs on the beach, among other things. They have two Norwich Terrier’s so we got lots of smiles as we wandered along the beach with three lively doggies frolicking about us!

Saturday night was a bit odd.. we went to a wake with Richard & his family. For someone we don’t know.. yeah, it was a bit awkward at times – especially when I kicked a table by accident and consequently knocked a pint glass on the floor, just at the start of the speeches! But the live music was good and the guy that we were there to honour seemed like a really good guy – who wouldn’t have minded some family of a friend having some free food on him!

Finally on Sunday, we headed back down South, with a stop at Guisborough to see even more family – this time it was my Aunt Liz & Uncle Pete, plus my cousin’s Jenny & David. After tinkering with their MacBooks & setting them up with jabber accounts on iChat, we headed off to a local beach with Pete & David to walk the dogs. Homily was delighted – 3 long beach walks in a week!

So.. it was a very long week and we saw lots and lots of family, and our poor car did 1045 miles! It was a good week though

We arrived on Saturday, heading straight to Dorchester for Pene’s wedding. A little history may be required here: my family used to live in Dorset until I was two, and Pene & my Mum met in the maternity ward after my big sister & Pene’s eldest child were born. After the bonding over the two worst behaved babies in the ward, Pene’s kids grew up going camping with us, etc. It was lovely to see her and the three children at the wedding – though quite a few years have passed since I last saw them! The wedding was lovely – it had a Venetian theme which meant we were all given masks, a lovely touch. There was a magician coming round the tables to entertain us – he was fantastic, I had no idea how he was doing things!

Easter Sunday was spent giving & receiving Easter goodies, taking a rambling walk around the nearby fields (and through a hedge) with Mum & Dad, and generally relaxing in our temporary home. James gave me my first ever Lindt bunny, so he is in the good books for quite a while! James & I headed to Weymouth on Easter Monday, so I could show him the town I was born in! After wandering around on the beach and doing a bit of window shopping we headed to Cineworld to watch Monsters vs. Aliens 3D which was splendiferous! I’ll post a review of that sometime in the next few days, hopefully!

Yesterday was a ‘veg’ day, as James, Dad & myself slouched on the sofas, watched horror films & played on our DS lites. I got a bit freaked out at the films – we watched the Ring & House of 9 – neither of which I’d seen before. Other than the slight element of terror, it was a wonderful relaxing day – just what we needed from our holiday, especially as today was so much busier – we popped to Dorchester for lunch then had the long drive back to Birmingham. And we got Homily back, yay! It has to be said that one of the most exciting parts of the day was our trip to Wellworths in Dorchester – James even bought me a little bit of pic a mix! It’s great, I wish our Woolies had turned into Wellies, instead of being an empty shell. It had useful things, like screws and bolts, as well as sweets and toys – I think it’s selection of stock is better than the last few years of Woolworths.

A selection of photos from the trip:

Oh wow, what a beautiful weekend it’s been! The weather was completely glorious, absolutely fantastic.

We went to Dovedale, in the Peaks, with Becky & Seb, which was brilliant. Really nice relaxing day, just spent hours camped out by the stepping stones, eating our picnic, paddling in the river, etc. Nice to just sit and chat and not have to worry about anything. And tan though I got a little burnt on my shoulders and chest. I was using sun lotion, I just missed a few spots! It’s not too bad though, mostly I just went slightly brown. We stayed there for ages, then had some very yummy ice cream and headed back to Brum, where we proceeded to have fish & chips and work our way through a couple of bottles of wine and a few cans of beer. I got a bit tiddly because I haven’t drunk much since I started my chronic daily headache medication, it’s an ‘avoid alcohol’ type thing – makes me very susceptible!

Today we headed to Broad Lane Cafe, our favourite local greasy spoon, for a fortifying breakfast sandwich. Carvery for lunch, then off to the West Midland Safari Park, which was brilliant. Becks kept getting all over excited about the animals, and we saw some.. interesting things! A White Lion decided that he was going to get it on with his Lady Lion, but the safari park jeep came charging over to interrupt them!

Oh, I love that I don’t have to go to work tomorrow. Is there anything better than a warm, relaxing bank holiday weekend?

I went to see Matchbox Twenty live at the NIA on Friday. And my god, were they good! They just got on stage and sang their brilliant songs and had so much fun! So brilliant

Have a listen to one of their best songs.. 3 AM – Matchbox Twenty.

We bought Wii Fit last week, and I’ve been having fun since! I’ve racked up 2 hrs 12 mins of torturous exercise so far which doesn’t sound like a lot, but I’ve had a busy few days since we got it Thursday! I’ve already got my favourite activities – I love step aerobics, unlocked all the way to free step, where I’m allowed to watch tv at the same time! Homily has even had a go on the wii fit, and it knows she’s a dog, I’m sure it does!

Highlights of this weekend also include the delivery of our snazzy new fridge freezer, the subsequent trip to ASDA to fill our snazzy new fridge freezer (yay for cheapness!), seeing Matt & Little Jenny Key for the first time in aaaagggggeeeees (which was a very nice surprise, stemming from me seeing a clone of Jen at the MB20 gig), Homily being generally adorable and being very popular at the pet store (one dog has never been so fussed over in one nip into a shop for dentastix!). I know, I’ve had such a thrilling time!

Tomorrow is roast dinner night, as I’ve foolishly mentioned roast dinners at some point this weekend and James gave me his best puppy dog look, so now there is a raw chicken in the fridge and veg in the cupboard! Oh well, I moan & groan, but I will enjoy cooking it really – and I’ll definitely enjoy eating it!

Anyway, I’m off to make banana splits, or some other form of ice cream concoction – the wonders of having a freezer – we have ice cream!
