A weekend in Bristol

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

At the weekend, James & I headed to Bristol to meet up with Hayles and go to the FREE Banksy vs Bristol Museum exhibit.

We met up with Hayley & her friends outside the museum, and went to join the sizeable queue.. two and a half hours later after queuing in the pouring rain we were allowed into the museum. I’m really not complaining though (ok, I am a little bit). It was completely, utterly, unquestionably worth the wait. Plus, we entertained ourselves in the queue by being silly and taking photographs…

Waiting in the queue

Yea, I do goofy well, huh?

Did you know that going round a museum and looking in every room is really tiring though!? I didn’t. I think maybe we were a little tired from the excessive queuing we did first though!

There were two rooms dedicated to Banksy – ‘Art of Banksy’ and ‘Unnatural History’. The first was a collection of his paintings & drawings, and the second a marvellous collection of animatronics. (more…)

Busy weekend

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

There seems to be a lot of stuff going on at the moment, it’s hard to find time just to kick back and relax. I was ill last week, had some cluster headaches.. hopefully I won’t have any more. The weekend was brilliant fun, Seb & Becky came to stay and we went to Drayton Manor on Saturday and the Severn Valley Railway on Sunday. Both days were really fun but very very tiring!

Drayton Manor was hilarious – there was this girl there with huge platform heels on and a white posh coat.. we saw her while we were queuing for ‘Splash Canyon’, the rapids ride. When her boyfriend handed her the disposable rain mac he got for her from the machine in the queue, she came out with ‘oh, are we going to get wet?’. Top points for brains, that one. She was only in the queue for a water ride at a theme park. I went on most of the stuff, though my head started hurting late afternoon so I had to skip one or two things that would have broke my brain.

We managed to take Homily with us to the steam railway yesterday, which was great. We travelled from Kidderminster all the way along the track to Bridgnorth, then got off partway back and walked a mile and a bit between stops and caught the next train after that. Homily was in her element and got fussed over by various train passengers. One woman was terrified of her and had to walk past shielding her eyes! I don’t know how anyone could be scared of Homily, she’s just a bundle of fluff. We had a very tired doggie by the end of the day though!

Top Gear was back this weekend, which was hilarious. Love that show. Also – how great was Doctor Who!? Cannot wait for the next two week’s shows. But then, no more Doctor Who for ages after :(

Website wise, I’ve been playing about with my site a lot lately. I’ve moved my blog to it’s own subdomain and will be moving my gallery to flickr I think – I’m tired of messing with zenphoto and flickr works with everything I use! I’m constantly playing with my site though. I’ve started using tumblr again after attempting to use wordpress to create a tumblog at my site.. which worked but there weren’t many easy fast ways to post, which sucked.
