Mahiki fun!

Hayles & I were lucky enough to be invited to the Aussie Angels “Girl’s Night Out” last Thursday at the exclusive Mahiki bar in Mayfair, London. The guys at 1000 Heads organised a fantastic evening – in the history of all my nights out, this one definitely has to go down as epic.

After a week of excited anticipation, I woke up on Thursday morning & packed my bags, then jumped onto a train to London (thanks must go to 1000 Heads for covering my train tickets & the hotel!), and headed to the Hilton that they had booked for us. I met Hayley on the way, and we checked in, then got ourselves a room picnic from the nearby Tescos.

Charlotte & friend

Once we were all dolled up & ready to go, we headed to the tube station where we met Charlotte from lipglossiping.com & her friend (yay for serendipity!). The four of us headed to the bar where we were greeted by the lovely Emma, who had us pose for a photo, then ushered us down the stairs into the bar.

As soon as we were inside the bar we were greeted with a special purple Aussie cocktail the bar staff had whipped up especially for us – and very yummy it was too! Some of the girls were given presents as well, I think Hayley & I snuck in behind Charlotte & got missed out somehow unfortunately (edit: Emma is posting them out to us, yay!)! After settling ourselves into our seats, a lot more cocktails followed! I think between the lot of us, we probably sampled the majority of the cocktail menu, and very tasty they were too.

Yum!!

Speaking of very tasty, we were served some very yummy dimsum, and a lot of our cocktails were delivered to us by a very very tasty lifeguard, wandering around the bar half dressed. Mmm. Other entertainment was provided in the form of a very good table magician & also a fabulous makeup artist there to primp us as much as we liked (unfortunately I never managed to get into the makeup queue, I think I was rather distracted by the cocktails!). She did a great job on some of the other girls though, with false eyelashes & all that jazz.

Me & Hayles

There was much drunken dancing at this point, probably a few more cocktails, and lots of fun until it was sometime! Somehow, miraculously, both Hayles & I managed to avoid having hangovers on Friday, so we spent the day window shopping around London. Yay, Apple store on Regent St – so big and beautiful! And I just have to say right now, I think I love Hamleys. Hello, 7 floors of goodness. Eventually I gave in to my exhaustion and took an afternoon train back to Birmingham, whereupon I collapsed on the sofa for the rest of the day.

All in all, it was a fantastic night out, and we both had a great time. The Aussie/1000 Heads guys have done a really great job of organising these events; really making sure that everyone enjoys themselves & doing a fab job of getting that brand message of fun light heartedness that Aussie has over to us. Thanks for a great night, guys!

On a side note: I really am loving the Aussie shampoos & conditioners. Washing my hair is a yummy fragrant experience, and they even prompt comments from my husband such as “mmm, your hair smells nice” – this was said two days after I washed my hair, I might add! The shampoo & conditioner both go a long way – my hair is so long & thick that quite often it feels like I need to use buckets of the stuff in order to cover my hair evenly. Aussie stuff seems to be a lot ‘thinner’ in terms of how far it spreads for the same amount of gunk. I like this because I don’t particularly ilke using tonnes & tonnes of product on my hair – I think one of the reasons it is so healthy is because I don’t over do anything, whether it is washing it, blow drying it, etc. Big thumbs up for the Aussie goodness!
