I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by… Is it really September already!? It’s definitely hard to believe that.
It seems only yesterday that the Summer was beginning, and now it’s drawing to a close. The weather has been typically British, but it seems determined to show us some kindness before Summer is completely over – the last two days have been warm & sunny, and though the days are getting shorter every day, the weather man is promising two weeks of summery weather before Autumn kicks in. I don’t think we’ll be having any barbecues but at least I should be able to get a few loads of washing out on the line over the next few days!
We have had a jam packed Summer this year, and so unfortunately we haven’t managed to do all the decorating we had planned – we’re halfway there though!
What we have done so far this year though, is get some great memories. 2009 is 3/4 over, but we’ve had some great times in the last 8 months! Some of my favourites have to be…
- 5 weddings! Steve & Sarah, Pene & Dave, Sarah & Davis, Carly & Daniel, and Sam & Dale. I’m all weddinged out now though!
- Easter with my family (minus my reclusive brother) - chocolate, relaxation and rambling
- Staying in Felixstowe & getting embarrassingly drunk with James’s Dad’s side of the family!
- Seeing Counting Crows live
- Having friends over for my birthday BBQ
- Visiting Hayley in Bristol & going to the Banksy exhibit
And we’ve still got a lot planned for the rest of the year, too! In a few weeks we’re off to Cornwall to visit my parents & then the month after that we’re headed to Ireland to visit James’s Dad & his wife Jen. And then of course there is our first wedding anniversary, Christmas, and James’s birthday to look forward to as well!
I’m excited because we’ve been given permission to take Homily to Cornwall with us – it’s the first time she’s coming along with us because my parents have cats. I can’t wait to take her for a walk on the beach or up to the bury. She likes travelling places with us so it will be fun for her too :).
What have you been up to so far this year?
