Cake!!

I am very proud of myself today because I made a coffee cake all by myself, and it looks great (even if I do say so myself!).

In the past, I have had a slight problem with cakes… The never seemed to rise, at all. So I was half dreading the outcome of my experiment this weekend, after my new cake tins arrived on Friday. Imagine my joy when I pulled the tins out of the oven and the cake looked like cake instead of there being a large biscuit type object lying in each tin. Woohoo! I’m 24 next month, and I finally baked a succesful cake!!

Oh, and I decorated it with sugar flowers and silver balls cos I don’t like walnuts!! I’m so excited to get The Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook and bake more treats, I have a feeling I will be unwrapping it in about a months time!

That looks amazing! I have been wanting the Hummingbird Bakery books for a few months now – everytime I go into Waterstones I’m told it’s “on order” – might have to abandon them altogether and go to Amazon or somewhere instead…

Good work – please may I have a virtual slice with my post lunch cuppa? :D
